Laura Hackett's long-awaited single, having gained momentum and recognition through the onething conferences, is an anthem for believers desiring to "be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power" (Eph. 6:10). Already a favorite with many, "I Put On Christ" declares our intention to put on the full armor of God, that we might remain strong in God when the day of evil comes, amidst the great challenges that await this generation.

Laura Hackett
Laura Hackett learned to hear the voice of the Lord at a young age by sitting at her piano, singing the Word and listening for the Spirit. Laura was born in Cleveland, but she and her family have lived in Kansas City for the last 17 years, and helped start the International House of Prayer of Kansas City (IHOP–KC) in 1999.
Growing up in the house of prayer, Laura was surrounded by music. Songwriting came naturally for her, and she wrote her first song at the age of eight. She later attended the Conservatory of Music and Dance at the University of Missouri-Kansas City to develop her songwriting skills and graduated with a degree in music theory. Laura now teaches voice classes at the Forerunner Music Academy, which is part of International House of Prayer University, and serves as a worship leader at IHOP–KC. Her motivation for music and songwriting comes from a desire to draw people back to God.
Laura's songs and vocals have been featured on many different albums in the IHOP–KC community. Her first full-length solo album released in the fall of 2009, followed by her single "I Put On Christ (The Battle Is Raging)," which gained recognition through IHOP–KC's onething conferences. |
